Branding Your App

Branding your mobile app is important and warrants some thought.  Your branding is the first thing drivers see when searching for your app in the app store, and when new drivers open your app for the first time.

Important:  After Eleos deploys and launches your app in the Play and App Stores, the majority of these items  CANNOT be changed without requesting and publishing brand new builds of your apps.

 

Unless otherwise noted, the following items are required to request an app bundle:

App Name

This is the name of your app as it appears in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • The app name must be at least 2 characters and cannot exceed 30 characters.
  • The app name cannot list keywords in it, like “Your Co Mobile – accept loads, scan docs, send messages, view pay, get news, etc.”
  • The app name cannot include any special characters or UTF-8 characters, such as ü or ö.

Note: App names in the Google Play Store do not need to be unique.  That is not the case with Apple.  In the Apple App Store, we can determine if the desired app name is available and then reserve it for 150 days before we need to submit a build or lose the name permanently. If the desired name is not available or if we do not submit a build within 150 days, we’d need to fallback to another name.

App Title

This is the title of your app as it appears underneath your app icon on the device’s home screen.

  • The app title cannot exceed 30 characters.

App Icon

This is the image that will display as the app icon on the device’s home screen.

  • Dimensions: 1024×1024
  • Format: PNG

Login Screen Logo

This is the image that will display on the app login screen.

  • Dimensions: rectangular with width between 900 to 1500
  • Format: PNG with alpha channel enabled and transparent background
  • Dark Mode (optional): You may provide a separate logo to be used when the app is in dark mode. If no dark mode logo is provided, the standard login logo will be used for both light and dark mode

Dashboard Logo (optional)

This is the image that will display on the dashboard after logging in. If this image is not provided, the login logo image will be used instead.

  • Dimensions: rectangular with width between 900 to 1500
  • Format: PNG with alpha channel enabled and transparent background
  • Dark Mode (optional): You may provide a separate logo to be used when the app is in dark mode. If no dark mode logo is provided, the standard dashboard logo will be used for both light and dark mode

Notifications Banner Icon (optional, Android only)

This is the image used for notification banners on Android devices. If this image is not provided, one will be automatically generated.

  • Dimensions: 1024×1024
  • Format: PNG with alpha channel enabled and transparent background

Note:  Can only contain the color black

Google App Icon (Android only)

This is the image used by Google Play Console and is required for store listings or drafts.

  • Dimensions: 512×512
  • Format: PNG with alpha channel enabled and transparent background

Google Feature Graphic (Android only)

This is the image used by Google Play Console and is required for store listings or drafts.

  • Dimensions: 1,024×500
  • Format: PNG

The following additional items are not needed to request an app bundle, but are required when you request to have your app published to the app stores:

Full App Description

The full app description should describe the app, detailing the features and functionality.

  • Descriptions are limited to 4000 characters.
  • The description should be in plain text, with line breaks as needed. HTML formatting isn’t recognized.

Please refrain from using “employee” or “employees” terminology in the description as Apple frowns upon those terms.

Short App Description

The short app description is limited to 80 characters and will appear in the Google Play Store only. It will not be used in the Apple App store.

Preview Images

Please provide screenshots of the most used features will need to be created and will display when you search the app store for your app.

  • Minimum of two images and a maximum of five images, please.

Support Email

This email address will show up in the app and on the app store and will be used when issues are discovered.
