⭐️ Trip Planner & Turn-by-Turn Navigation Beta: We’ve made under-the-hood changes to Trip Planner and our turn-by-turn navigation. Over the past several months, hundreds of drivers have tested the new turn-by-turn navigation, though real-world testing has been limited to a small number of unique mobile device models. As a result, this update is being released as a beta version. Our goal is to gather feedback from a broader range of devices. While we don’t expect any new bugs, we’re ready to address them swiftly if they arise.
Your drivers can expect the following improvements with our new turn-by-turn experience:
- Enhanced Stability: We are pleased to report fewer crashes with this update. While exact figures may vary, our internal testing has shown a significant decrease in app crashes, contributing to a more stable navigation experience overall. This has also been proven by four fleets piloting over the past several months.
- Improved Lane Guidance: Drivers will now receive lane guidance information earlier, providing clarity on which lane(s) to use before upcoming maneuvers.
- Audible Maneuvers: We’ve updated audible maneuvers to match language more commonly used by mainstream navigation apps.
- Reduced Data Consumption: This release includes a significant reduction in map tile sizes. As such, map pre-downloads are no longer needed or supported.
- Bug Fixes:
- Compass rotation on Android devices now accurately updates live as the device’s heading changes.
- As a driver navigates the route, the route ribbon behind the driver is now gray indicating they’ve navigated along that section of the route.
- While calculating a reroute, the current road shown in the bottom green banner is cleared out so that drivers are not shown potentially incorrect information.
Known Issue – Truck Restriction Icons: Truck restrictions are no longer displayed on the map during turn-by-turn navigation, only in Trip Planner and when previewing a route. Truck restriction icons will be re-introduced in turn-by-turn-navigation in a near-future release.
🔧 This version has been updated to comply with the latest Google Play Store policies. You must deploy this version to the Play Store prior to Google’s August 31, 2025 deadline to ensure your app remains available for download by new users on Android version 13 and above.
✅ As usual, this version of the Platform mobile app is designed to be backwards-compatible with your existing web services and doesn’t require server changes prior to being deployed. If a future version introduces a backwards-incompatible change, we’ll note that in this portion of the release notes.

⭐️Trip Planner Studio – Pluggable Route Options for Build a New Route: Build a New Route users now have the ability to access a route options form based on their unique pluggable routing schema in order to see the impact various route options will have on routing. Previously when selecting a pluggable router, users had no ability to modify the route options used to generate a route.
🔧 App Usage Report: The Home screen’s App Usage report has been updated. The “Users Navigating” metric now represents drivers using turn-by-turn navigation while a new metric, “Users Trip Planning,” represents drivers accessing Trip Planner. Previously these had been combined under a single metric.
🔧 Reorder Forms Option List: When editing an Option List form field, you can now drag and drop to reorder the items within the list. This is also available for multi-select Option Lists.
